Tradeable Opportunities and Trade Setups
With in-depth market analysis we find suitable trades that we feel will benefit our traders and community. In addition to Trade Setups based on Trading Systems, our Market Analysis applies some stock specific analysis, like dividend dates or earnings announcements to try and increase the accuracy of our trading, while basing the setup on robust techniques.
OVERVIEW OF FUNDAMENTAL & TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS
In fundamental analysis, traders will look at the fundamental data to try to understand whether a stock is undervalued or overvalued, and how its value is likely to change based on the companies revenue or earnings forecasts. Fundamental analysis can be highly complex, involving the many elements of the stocks business composition that can indicate future earnings and dividend potential.
A good place for traders to start, fundamental analysis is about stock selection, as opposed to market timing. If you’re looking at developing a dividend portfolio, a sector specific portfolio, growth portfolio etc then you can use fundamental analysis to narrow down the number of stocks you would then apply a technical trading method to.
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
Technical analysis is the other main category of stock trading analysis that is highly favoured among traders. Most often it involves reviewing the past and recent behaviour of the stocks price trends on a chart to determine where the stock may move going forward. The rationale behind using technical analysis is that many traders believe that market movements are ultimately determined by supply, demand and mass market psychology, which establishes limits and ranges for stock prices to move upward and downward.
Technical analysis encompasses a long list of individual methods used to detect likely trade setups. Many traders appreciate technical analysis because they feel it gives them an objective, visual and scientific basis for trading.
We use technical analysis to provide us with a framework with which to enter and exit a stock, that we can backtest and determine profitability before outlaying a cent into the market. The use of technical analysis also means the framework for trading is applied consistently so long term success is due to the system framework, as opposed to luck.
Market Analysis
The Market Analysis section differs from the Trade Setups as we attempt to look further into a stocks indices characteristics, taking into account earnings forecasts and dates, dividend dates, seasonality and value. Think of it as a more in depth look at a trade, rather than simply using the blanket approach taken by a trading system.
